I’m not talking about secrecy. I’m talking about putting the kibosh on “discussion” about things that can never change.
There is only one reason for “discussion” of Communion for adulterers, gay couples, etc., and that is to gin up “hope” that the Church will cave on adultery.
It is no accident, of course, that the bishops who are talking loudest about Communion for adulterers and gay couples are the very same bishops who have always insisted, and insist now, on giving Communion to Ted Kennedy, Mario Cuomo, Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, etc.
