Trent Lott Slams Ted Cruz As A Troublemaker

Mississippi’s congressional delegation is regaining its clout, former Sen. Trent Lott said Thursday.

Lott noted that, beginning in January, Republican Sen. Thad Cochran is in line to become chairman of the powerful Appropriations Committee, and Republican Sen. Roger Wicker will take over the National Republican Senatorial Committee, a top leadership post.

“Our delegation has been relatively weak in recent years compared to the past, but with time that is beginning to change,” Lott, a former Senate majority leader, told reporters following a breakfast hosted by the Christian Science Monitor. “They’re building up seniority and influence and respect.”

SPECIAL: Modern Day Patriots, this is the time to stand shoulder to shoulder with our forefathers in Lexington and Concord. We need the Tea Party now more than ever.

Lott was joined at the breakfast by former Democratic Sen. Tom Daschle of South Dakota, also a former Senate majority leader. The two, co-chairmen of the Bipartisan Policy Center’s Commission on Political Reform, discussed issues facing the new Congress and prospects for bipartisanship.

“People yearn for their elected officials, their leaders, to lead to try to get things done,” Lott said. “It is harder now, I think. My attitude is, why would you want to come here if all you want to do is raise money and get re-elected? Why wouldn’t you want to make a difference?… Just to do nothing is not a conservative position.”

In Mississippi, Lott said, GOP leaders are working to repair damage from GOP Sen. Thad Cochran’s bruising re-election race against Republican state Sen. Chris McDaniel, a tea party favorite who lost to Cochran in a GOP primary runoff.

Gov. Phil Bryant “is working very hard to get everybody pulled back together, there are a lot of people that are working to bridge that damage that was done.”

... what a low life Trent is....

Yup...ole' Trent is the same idiot that bragged that he knew how to hide spending in any piece of legislation, essentially acknowledging that he was good at stealing from the taxpayers and then lying about it.

Of course Trent Lott praises Thad Cochrane. They attend the same Senior Citizens Center for dominoes every day when Cochrane dips his toe in MS.

Get off your butts and take a few minutes to go to a local Tea Party meeting in your area. Don’t listen to Trent Lott and the others who want to “Palinize” the Tea Party. The Tea Party in our area supports the best conservative candidates and issues regardless of party.

Decide for yourselves, not what Trent Lott and others want you to think. Get the truth and then get involved at the grass roots and make something happen. You’ll feel better.

Yes, I support Senator Cruz and others like him because the GOPe never seems to change. Same old candidates, same old priorities, same old solutions, and same old outcome. Same party as the democrats. We are currently a one party nation desperately in need of a change and redirection. It’s going to take new conservative leadership such as Ted Cruz and others to overcome the current administration’s damage and return this nation to what our founding fathers gave us.

Gov. Phil Bryant “is working very hard to get everybody pulled back together, there are a lot of people that are working to bridge that damage that was done".

Yeah, and WHO did the damage s**t head? It was Thad Cochran, Haley Barbour and family and Mitch McConnell. They did the damage and I can't believe that Chris McDaniel would just "roll-over" for this. I wish that Chris McDaniel and his supporters would form "The Conservative Party of Mississippi", and work like hell to get it organized before 2016. They might not win any elections the first Election cycle in 2016, but, they will scare the hell out of the GOPe and make them use money and resources they otherwise would not have to use.

One by one, we’ll get rid of all of these “OLD BAGGAGE” that has done their best to destroy the REPUBLICAN PARTY and turned it into a “DEMOCRAT LITE” party.

Oh yeah? How did that work for us this past election cycle? Not one freakin' GOPe incumbent defeated in a Primary. The only way we get rid of their sorry a**es is for them to die and go to hell.

Hey Trent. Was it Ted Cruz and Conservatives who viciously attacked you for being kind to Strom Thurmond? Oh. That’s right. It was the ESTABLISHMENT(Press, Liberals, Democrats) that tried to destroy you.

What a dolt you are. Check your Depends. I’ll get you a new pair of velcro shoes and pick up your Aricept.

To say that Republicans had a clean sweep of the South is not exactly true. The Democrats got their man in Mississippi and he happens to wear a Republican label.

Not quite true. We took down one of their really big RINO fish, Eric Cantor. They were so certain he was safe, they forgot to protect him. He was one of their biggest fundraisers. Shocked them so bad, they did not dare pass amnesty before the election. Which shocked the dems so bad, they begged Obama not executive amnesty before the election.

They’ll always huff and puff like they have all the power but make no mistake, they fear people voting. That is why they did what they did in Mississippi. That is why the leaders hide the bills and make them vote without providing time to read the bills. That is why the republican leadership is using bait and switch tactics with the bills so that their own members don’t even know what they are voting on.

Lott, if you would only be a troublemaker besieging the other side, we’d have more use for you.

The liberal columnist Dana Milbank recently referred to the Democrats as a ‘’circular firing squad’’ to describe the divided Democrats following the Chuck Schumer’s anti-ObamaCare speeches.

The Republicans also have a firing squad, but it isn’t circular, instead, almost the entire Republican party is lined up and aiming at a few Conservatives in their midst — primarily Ted Cruz, Jeff Sessions, and Mike Lee — primarily because those Senators are acting like the members of an opposition party are supposed to act in democracies, by opposing the other party.

Ted Cruz and his few Conservative supporters are not only fighting to uphold the Conservative principles on which the Republican party is based, they’re also fighting to uphold the Constitution, which John Boehner, Mitch McConnell and their followers seem eager to join with Obama and the Democrats in destroying.

But although hugely outnumbered, Ted Cruz seems to be a strong enough patriot and a good enough speaker to survive the onslaught he’s receiving.

Cruz/Carson 2016
