full auto isn’t all its cracked up to be anyway. Even the pros with full auto usually choose a 3 round burst. To hard to control full auto - the muzzle progressively rises and most people would resort to pray and spray, a waste of ammo.

Any type AR on semi auto is more than enough to get the job done.

All depends on your ability to control the weapon. At 50 feet I can put a whole mag from my MP5 in a 4 inch circle.

Plus figure on a $10,000+ price tag for a quality HK or similar. Bring your AMEX card.
Now a belt-fed, crew-served, and roof-mounted weapon attached to the top of my home might be a force with which to be reckoned. ;-)

Full auto is like having a very big mean brother. When you need it you appreciate it. Supressing fire and movement are key to success in urban combat.

Just go to a range that allows it and fire off a full 30 round magazine as fast as you can pull the trigger, time it, and calculate how many rounds you could get off in a minute at that rate, absent the need to change magazines. In my experience, the number of rounds comes out to about 300 per minute, pretty much the machine gun effect without a machine gun.
