So now Republicans have an historic 54-seat majority in the Senate.
Does it even matter?
“So now Republicans have an historic 54-seat majority in the Senate. Does it even matter?”
The Dems certainly don’t think so, or they would have tried to help Baby Fat a bit more.
Unless the Republicans take some serious steps to actually use that majority, for example, NOT CONFIRMING ANY JUDGES (including the Supreme Court, should that open up) until this Executive Amnesty is rescinded, then the Dems are right.
Given what we’re hearing the Dems do appear correct.
No. It doesn't matter. There are enough Republican Senators who want to "play house" with the Democrats to stymie any really conservative legislation that will set the country right.
Somebody wrote on another thread that our little party could have the White House, 300 House seats, and 70 Senate seats, and nothing would still get done. Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski would block all conservative measures singlehandedly, with help too from McC and Graham.
Subtract Murkowski, Collins, McC, Graham, and Hatch, and it’s really 49. I know Hatch has his defenders here.
