Thanks...I will of course look at the cases referenced. History is always interesting to me. You never know when you might be on Jeopardy, lol.
Just doing a cursory look at the subject...it seemed that rape was usually linked to other crimes...or racially motivated...before the death penalty was applied.

Yes, rape is not the “norm”.
It is a serious felony crime, and used to come under the death penalty in a number of states and the federal government and in a great many countries.
