Hef on Cosby: 'The mere thought of these allegations is truly saddening'

Los Angeles police opened an investigation into a woman's claims that Bill Cosby molested her when she was 15 years old at the Playboy mansion, a department spokeswoman said.

In response to the accusation, Hugh Hefner released the following statement about the comedian.

“Bill Cosby has been a good friend for many years and the mere thought of these allegations is truly saddening. I would never tolerate this kind of behavior, regardless of who was involved.”

The investigation was opened Friday after Judy Huth, who is suing Cosby for sexual battery, met with detectives for 90 minutes, Officer Jane Kim said.

Huth's civil suit claims Cosby forced her to perform a sex act on him in a bedroom of the Playboy Mansion around 1974 when she was underage.

The attorney supposedly representing all these so called victims is Gloria Alred

She is? I know she is representing one new one, but she is representing the 13 who came forward in the 2005 lawsuit, and all of the others?

Is she supporting the one that he drugged and raped in 2004 and settled out of court with in 2006, when 13 other victims came forward to support her description of his rape methods?

Your original post...”So Hef is staying out of it?”

Kind of made it sound like you think that he is blameless. Since the Playboy Mansion is/was his toy...I doubt that is the case.

I will wager that a whole lot of people during the time did the same thing Cosby did. And truth be known...it still goes on today. Do you agree?

No, it sounds like Hef is staying out of it, which to me is another indicator against Cosby, they were best friends.

“As to Playboy, Masten says she told her supervisor soon after she claimed Cosby had drugged and raped her at a Chicago hotel.
“She said to me, ‘You know that’s Hef’s best friend, right?’” Masten recounted, referring to Playboy founder Hugh Hefner. “I said, ‘Yes.’ She said, ‘Well, nobody is going to believe you. I suggest you keep your mouth shut.’””

“And, P.J. Masten, one of the two ex-bunnies who have publicly accused Cosby of sexual assault, told CNN’s Alisyn Camerota that there are other women who have not come forward, or will not.
“(There are) 12 former bunnies that I know of that are ashamed to come forward, frightened to come forward, married with families (and) don’t want to come forward.” Masten said. “But they were also drugged and raped by Bill Cosby.””

You think that serial rapists are common, routine, normal, or what?

You didn’t actually ask the correct question. You should have asked if I thought this behavior was acceptable. No I don’t.

But do I think that this behavior is common, routine and normal in the environment then and now...yes I do.

Could be Hef is staying out of it because he doesn’t want the spot light being turned on him. Do ya think????

Seriously, serial rapists in your mind are “common, routine and normal in the environment then and now...yes I do.”

Bizarre.

I think a whole lot of people are staying silent for that very reason.

This is a category 5 $hit-storm, and we're just seeing the outer bands.

Excellent reply but incorrect on one key point.

The perp did NOT claim rape!

She claims three beers - one per list pool game.

She claims ATTEMPTED fondling. Claim was Cosby tried to stick his hand down her pants but did not succeed.

She then claimed Cosby used her hand to perform a sex (unspecified) act in himself. What specific act that was she did not say.

That is all that is alleged.

This is reputedly Jane Doe number 5 of the thirteen from the lawsuit in 2005.

Notice how the allegations DO NOT SUPPORT the main story line.

1) There is no claim of a drug with the beer.
2) There is no claim of passing out or rape.

So as ‘supporting claim’ for the 2005 complaint, it is extremely weak.

The prosecutor did not bring charges, so yes he did say that Cosby was ‘not guilty’. End of Story.

What the prosecutor did say was...

Castor said. “What I said was there was insufficient, admissible, and reliable evidence upon which to base a conviction beyond a reasonable doubt.

...

“As much as I wanted to go forward, there wasn’t enough evidence and prosecutors are bound by the law,”

...

Castor also said the alleged victim’s delay in speaking out hurt the case.

“You lose the ability to test for blood or intoxicating agents, whether she was drugged,” he said.

The prosecutor admitted to being tempted to bring the charges FOR THE NOTORIETY IT WOULD GIVE THE PROSECUTOR.

Not really. Go to the Playboy Mansion. Have Sex, Go Home.

How is this a mystery on any sane individual?

What about other crimes that may have been committed at this time. For example, did someone transport the underage girls across a state line? Was someone aware of this and failed to report?

If so, then it seems to me that such crimes have not been discovered and that the SOL would not apply.

Agreed.

But I don’t think it will spread much further. Lots of people have their wallets out buying silence. At least the ones that are still alive.

Cosby settled that 2004 drugging/rape, out of court in 2006, and there were 13 more women willing to testify in support of the description of his rape methods used.

The DA you describe believes that he did the crime, but felt that he didn’t have the evidence to get a conviction.

Did you work this hard to defend Bill Clinton from accusations of rape?

Which means there's still a lot of dirt to uncover.

Make no mistake, there's blood in the water. You can bet your last nickel a lot of people are running scared.
