The police were called to the scene of a fight. Garner was involved in the fight, although his ‘buddy’ who videotaped it claimed that Garner ‘broke up’ the fight.
He’d been arrested for selling singles dozens of times. He was in the wrong already, then he resisted arrest. He slapped away the officer’s hands several times.
They had to physically subdue him, and during that, he overexerted himself. Diabetes, asthma, heart disease won.
Blame it on the cop if you want, but I blame it on Garner’s choice of occupation. He should not have been a repeat criminal nor a cop. He didn’t have the heart for it.
You can get the same reaction out of almost any Nazi or mental cop by just having a cell phone out when they are having some strong-armed fun. Woe unto anyone who dares defy them, deny them their kicks and jollies, or threaten them with just the smallest potential of public exposure. Yeah, call a cop. They are your friends...
