Bernie Sanders: Evidence that the Senator from Vermont is a Big ā€œCā€ Communist
Trevor Loudon ^ | 12/5/14 | Trevor Loudon

Everybody knows that Bernie Sanders, the grandfatherly Independent Senator from Vermont is a socialist. He’s made no secret of it over the years, proudly proclaiming to anyone who will listen. To most people it’s no big deal: “at least he’s honest,” they’ll chuckle. Most people seem to imagine that Grandpa Bernie’s socialism is benign, owing much more to Sweden than Cuba, much more to modern West Germany, than to the old German Democratic Republic.

But is Bernie Sanders really being honest? What if he is actually more of a communist? A believer in class struggle? Of crushing the free enterprise system?

Does it matter? The man is a US Senator. His vote could decide the nomination of a Supreme Court Justice, or ratify a gun banning treaty with the United Nations. He is even seriously exploring a presidential run on the Democratic ticket. Damned right his real views matter.

The 1036 Communist goals spelled out what the future would be. I am just amazed they were so successful in executing it. Bernie is of course as you describe him and the clear expression/expressOR of those goals.

From a purely academic perspective it’s fascinating to watch do many people take what little they have been taught about actual functional society and willingly, scratch that... and aggressively condemn it all in favor of Orewllian level groupthink.

As people freese to death amidst ice storms, they curse the oil companies for providing fuel needed for heat. AS their country is destroyed by a Communist Muslim, they condemn Americans for their bigotry. The idiot that got mugged and blamed his ‘privilege’ is that mentality manifest in spades.

I actually welcome a collapse. It’s the only way natural law will ever regain a foothold, much less constitutional governance of an educated people. Because we collectively have become too stupid to survive. Those that survive will by eccentricity have to reeducate themselves and so there will be nope for a future.

A “socialist” is a commie. They just don’t have the balls to say it.

Does he really think a Leninist revolution or a Soviet-style regime is a serious prospect? That's what "Communist" meant after all.

Groups like these have complicated histories. In the 70s, the DSOC or DSA was non-Communist without being anti-Communist, not advocating Stalinism, but opposed to US foreign policy.

What they wanted in the US and what they were willing to embrace in other countries weren't always the same thing. Since then they've taken in a lot of ex-Communists and Old New Leftists who had similar ambivalent feelings about Communism.

That's the case with left-wing parties all around the world. How many members actually want to reproduce Stalin's or Mao's or Castro's system now is another matter, though.

Back in the day, Bernie Sanders had the 'Progressive Caucus' website hosted on the house.gov server! You can see it right here!

Why even mention the communists in congress when we are not concerned about the Muslims in that place?

If you worry about Sanders, you should worry even more about the people in Vermont who placed their trust in him.

What you said...

What is not amusing is that the current occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave was rated as being further left than Bernie when they were both in the Senate.

bears repeating. Great post.

By its very nature communism must be hidden.

Like cowards lurking in some back alley, they can’t come out and admit their beliefs or own up to their actions.

The communist’s greatest weakness is his inability to understand why he’s a communist.

Really? He was openly Socialist when he was the Mayor of Burlington. Is this supposed to be shocking? Or is it no one in the rest of the country knew?

“Progressivism” brings an unconscious sense that the ideology itself is inadequate—that it is a losing battle.

These unconscious feelings of inadequacy are the source of the progressivist’s reluctance to admit his or her true beliefs and intentions.
