I will always contend that you OBEY any command from the officer. If they tell you to get on the ground, get on the ground, etc.
Virtually, every minority shooting has happened because the victim has resisted arrest or decided to ignore the cop.
I treat every policeman with respect. They are armed!
And I do not deny that the guy the cop killed did not break the law by trying to avoid arrest. Nor am I saying that he was a good person wrongfully accused. What I do find disturbing is the fact that more and more frequently police are resorting to deadly force as a first resort and not a last resort. They're shooting without evidence that their life is in danger or the life and safety of bystanders. They are blowing away 12 year old boys in Ohio, unarmed men in stairwells in New York, teenagers who are holding nothing more threatening than a Wii controller. And they're walking away with it, without any consequences for their actions. I don't think that is right.
