You’re absolutely right on that. I remember when the whole “political correctness” phrase and awareness first became a big topic in the mid-to-late-1980s. Everybody was deriding it, as if it was some kind of joke, something that would never fly... something that was an idioticly hamfisted attempt by the left to further their aganda, which just couldn’t take hold in America. Because Americans were supposedly so independent and individualistic, and just too savvy to fall for such manipulation after seeing decades of the dangers of propaganda via the Nazis and Soviets and such.
Yet, the country fully and totally succumbed to PC insanity. And it has continued to compound itself ever since, with each passing year, pushing America into its current state of cowering fear over crossing any number of ludicrous demarcation lines dictated by the leftist thought-masters. Where even insanity like singing the old standard “White Christmas” is now apparently conveying racism.
