IMO this is likely to fall all to pieces when examined. For instance, did the frat house in question actually have a party on the night in question?
Is there any physical evidence in the room in question? A lot harder to get rid of than most realize.
Does the "rapee" have extensive scarring on her back from shards of glass?
I suspect this will backfire and be shown to be largely if not entirely a fabrication.
Cries of "fake but accurate" will then ring out across the land.
What gripes my cookies the most is the presumption on the left that conservatives don't care about rape. I have two daughters, and I'm all in favor of capital punishment for actual rape. Ruining someone's life on the unsupported testimony of one other person, not so much.

She won’t even name the suspects so it’s not even that. I have a feeling that this was someone who told a big tale to her friends and never thought a reporter would show up at her door an make this major news. As soon as the police question her she will fess up. I hope the Rolling Stone reporter has a backup job in mind.
This has all started from one hyperventilating, exaggerated article published in “Rolling Stone” - which read like a bad movie script.
From what I have seen, the author’s article and statements have already started to fall apart.

The original story in Rolling Stone reads more like an article in True Confessions than an actual incident.
It boggles the mind that of the 6 men allegedly involved, the hundreds of people at the frat party, the four friends of the victim, who supposedly came upon her bruised, bloody and covered in broken glass, not one was interviewed by the author for the article. Not one.
These same four friends advised her not to go to the ER, even though she had been gang-raped by 6 men and a beer bottle, or seek any kind of medical attention, because it might damage her reputation. They also were not interviewed.
In fact, no one who might have had any knowledge of the incident was interviewed for the article, other than alleged victim, who remains anonymous, and various feminists who spout the party line. There is not one shred of independent evidence from any source who isn’t reporting only what the victim herself told them. Dan Rather would be so proud!
When the truth comes out, it will be that there was no incident, and that the story was manufactured to bring awareness of the rape culture which probably actually exists only in the minds of people just like the author.
If it was actually happening, they wouldn’t have to make stuff up.

I read an article years ago, about some man who claimed he had survived the holocaust. I had never heard of him before I read that piece, and I can’t remember his name now, but apparently he was quite the toast of the world of holocaust studies - before he was revealed as a complete fraud.
I think he might have been from Poland, but that was the end of the truth of his story. Which was lurid and detailed and scary and awful and all baloney.
It was a fascinating article, how many smart people were taken in by this guy and I think the truth was quite damning, something like he wasn’t OLD enough to have been in the holocaust.
Anyway, that’s what I thought of when I heard this tale.
