... The plan was inspired by two conservative lawmakers: Florida Rep. Ted Yoho and Georgia Rep. Tom Price. The government funding portion would keep most of the government open until September 2015 but would only supply monies to the Department of Homeland Security until March. Government funding runs out Dec. 11.
House Appropriations Chairman Hal Rogers (R-Ky.), who writes spending bills, approved of the plan.
I think thats a good option, Rogers told Politico Tuesday morning. It passes the omnibus, which we need to get Republican spin on spending plus it avoids a shutdown. And on the Homeland Security, when we do a CR, it preserves that fight until we have more troops in the Senate.

Really irks me to no end that ‘the people’ don’t want it...so don’t fund it period. Just because Obama says he’ll close down the government...well so what...don’t listen to him and keep it open! Since when do people have to do what he says since he’s already trashed the constitution?
I like funding everything until 01Feb15. Then pass a bill a day starting with Defense, ending with Homeland Security. Those new appropriations roughly follow the Ryan budget.
Cant we go back to passing actual budgets again?
Amen Sister
We need a new government, filled with real Americans who won't be repeating these babbling bullshit talking points.
The American people spoke many years ago and told these corrupt idiots to secure our country and deport the criminals who break our laws and rules.
Secure our country, our borders and dramatically reduce the size, scope and authority of this expanding, obscene controlling corrupt government.
This is not difficult or complex to understand or implement.
I know that many here on freerepublic would look forward to a shutdown but it is a losing effort for the GOP.
I am long past caring about the GOP..let’s face it, they don’t care about us in the slightest..except when it’s “votin’ time. They only care about living the big life, on our dime. I personally would like to see the govt shutdown until a BUDGET is agreed to...a complete shutdown, no “protected programs”.. (The inability to recharge the EBT cards would make Ferguson look like a tailgate party)...bring it!
At which time, the excuse becomes, "well, we don't have the White House..."
Let him and let the MSM support him. We have the Internet and talk radio.
Right. Their options are extremely limited with control of only the House at this time.
Yep, not having EPA in there isn’t good.
that IS NO OPTION. ARE YOU A demorat? SCREW THAT OPTION. SHUT THE DAMNED GOVERNMENT DOWN NOW OR WE WILL RIP THIS PARTY UP!!
WE JUST WON AFTER A SHUT DOWN. STOP THIS GIRLY MAN CRAP!!!
Keep the government open? Screw that. Burn the mauxfaux down.
They need to add EPA. That’s an election issue and economic issue worth fighting. Now’s the time to show just how much damage worrying about parts per billion is causing the economy.
I’m am telling you this. This quivering fear will ruin the party. I will walk away. Millions will walk away. If we don’t fight after we won a land slide after a shut down And we said we would fight “tooth and nail” — we are pussys. I hate these republicans— I hate them.
uh. no.
so...with appologies to Willy and Eddie.
I’mmm...
On the phones again
Just can’t wait to get on the phones again
The life I love is calling Boehner and his “friends”
I can’t wait to get on the phones again.
Source ???
The spiteful Obama shut down public monuments, make him do it again.
Here! Here!
The GOPe always pushes through a spending plan to keep spending money we don’t have and drive the country deeper into unsustainable debt right around the Christmas and New Year holidays.
The GOPe RINO’s are trying to hide their compromise and their ultimate belief in better management of Big Government, not its elimination.
It was only two years or so ago right after the New Year that John Boehner made his “imperfect deal” with Barack Obama to spend more and increase the national debt.
Then Boehner was elected leader again by the rank and file Republicans in Congress with hardly a whimper.
FEEL GOOD POLITICAL SMOKE AND MIRRORS THAT IS MEANINGLESS
I have trust in Cruz, Lee and Paul to some extent in the Senate and only a handful in the House like Massie of Kentucky and Amash of Michigan.....95 percent of the GOP elected officials fake conservatism or repudiate it in some cases to win elections.....
