Good morning to you as well!

Re Boehner’s “leadership” please list for me his major achievements and/or political victories during his tenure. I would be interested to know what they are. I and many other FReepers share a common view of him as weak, too accommodating to Democrats, and lacking a commitment to conservative principles. At the very least he has missed precious opportunities to constrain Obama. I submit that even a casual glance at some posts on FR will reveal widespread discontent with his leadership.

Wanting people to do better in their jobs, to advance the conservative cause, is not being an “Obama-bot” as you assert. Remaining silent in the face of failure is not a formula for success. Ask any coach of any team.
The sad reality is that Republicans are floundering. For example, they’ve had many weeks to put to formulate a response to Obama’s outrageous amnesty to reassure their voters that they won’t let this stand, but a clear strategy to deter him remains elusive still.

The Republicans (save for Ted Cruz) have no clear or consistent message and people have no idea what they stand for. The only way to defeat Obama, his party, and their allies in the media is to field a strong, well led team of dedicated people WITH CLEAR OBJECTIVES.

I leave you with this to consider. I know people who have worked inside the GOP and can assure you the party is far from what you think it is; it is infested with too many RINOs and other self-interested career politicians who are too willing to “compromise” with liberals. At the very least, it’s far from the party that Reagan left us.

The party desperately needs strong leadership and direction. Like with children, you often need to criticize and discipline in order to alter self-destructive behavior. The stakes are too high to accept mediocrity.
I hope you understand my view and can see that I’m not trying to give anything to Obama as you erroneously asserted. To the contrary, I want to see a winning team beat him at every turn and not just be content to swim along with the current.

Hi Starboard,

I agree with you. I am frustrated, too. I wish we had an army of Ted Cruzes, each making solid pro-America speeches to inspire our unconvinced neighbors to become patriots.

But we don’t, so, in the world we’ve atually got, it doesn’t bother me that no one in the GOP has told me YET precisely what the GOP will do AFTER the new Congress is seated.

Think about it. Why should our new Congressional leaders give the White House a “heads-up” — and a “target” — for that same corrupt White House to spin their lies about? In advance?

Why shouldn’t our new Congressional leaders announce their “New Budget” (if that’s the tool they select) in a “LIVE” speech on TV?

Why shouldn’t our new Congressional leaders USE that venue to DIRECTLY make the case to America’s middle class that the new Congressional “Budget” (if that’s the tool used) will add jobs and will shrink Obama’s obscenely bloated deficit? Why not give Senator Cruz that podium?

Some say that “Pickett’s Charge” could have won the Battle of Gettysburg for the Confederacy. And with that victory, won our Civil War. Of course, we’ll never know.

However, we do know that that Pickett’s Charge was strong, brave, well-focused, and well-led. We know that the “charge” reached its objective. And we know that brave force was just too weakened to “hold” what its blood had earned.

Let’s not be so bold that we rush in before we have prepared our side for complete victory.
