Unsuccessful attempt could undermine GOP efforts to reverse amnesty order
Capitol Hill Republicans have furiously denounced President Obama’s executive action on immigration as illegal, unconstitutional and an abuse of the power of his office — but they get skittish when the talk turns to impeachment.
Even Rep. Steve King, one of the most fiery opponents of the president’s “executive amnesty” for illegal immigrants, backed away from his previous calls for impeachment.
“I don’t want to do the ‘I’ word. Nobody wants to throw the nation into that kind of turmoil,” the Iowa Republican told CNN immediately following Mr. Obama’s executive action.

The real reason not to impeach him is that he is not like other presidents. Clinton’s effectiveness came to a halt with the proceedings. Ditto for Nixon just because of the investigations and impeachment threat. This guy would downshift for mor traction and start EOing like we don’t imagine right now. i don’t think a Congress led by McConnell and Boehner would survive it. A better move would bne to impeach those two were it possible.

Lerner and Holder were held in contempt, but not removed from office. Since all the GOP oversight committee does anyway is ‘whack their pee-pees’ ... Bonehead gives notice of hearings, they have some brief debate and the House then votes in favor of impeachment.
The Senate can do what they want to do (nothing, even if they had the 67 votes) and the Obamanites get back to doing all they can to hurt the country in their last year with their tin god and his royal decrees.

Impeachment, conviction and removal is the only Constitutional remedy for getting rid of Obama.
If we don’t impeach and remove, then how does the GOP think they are going to rein in an out of control President?

As my dear departed Dad (WWII vet and staunch Republican) said to me after Nixon resigned: “What this shows is that ‘the system’ works. Abuse of power can only get so far”.
It catches up with the abusers sooner or later, karma as it were, and in the case of Obama he’s already lost many of the pragmatists within his own party in Congress, and all that’s left are the hopeless kool-aid drinkers.
Don’t impeach. Just block block block, and block some more. Don’t worry about the whiners & screamers ... they’re gonna whine & scream anyway, no matter what.
“The System” can and will work as it should, Americans are still deeply steeped in this ‘liberty and freedom’ thing for it to be any other way ... that vast red zone between the coasts, with many pockets of red within the blue zone as well.

He should be impeached but won’t be. Impeachment is the remedy outlined in the Constitution, of which most Americans know nothing. It is a violation of the Constitution NOT to impeach.
One could make the argument that it would be better for the Dems if Obama were to be impeached and convicted. Then President Biden could run in 2016 and 2020 as an incumbent, which gets rid of Hillary! and keeps the White House Dem for 16 years.
Sadly, I believe impeachment would be a mistake. Better to let hussein finish his term and in 2016 repeatedly ask blacks if they are better off now than they were 8 years ago.

Way short. Republicans will have 54 votes in the new Senate and by no means would all 54 vote impeach. Perhaps 40 would, not nearly enough.
