Getting elected to the Senate when you’re in your 40s and riding that horse for 30+ years seems like a plush way to live.
It appears they do little actual work. I’d love to see how many hours per week Senators, and Reps too for that matter, spend at their desk. Can’t count fund raising dinners, lunches, etc. How many hours a week do they spend legislating? I’d be willing to bet it’s not even close to 40.

Republicans won’t pick up the California seat. And I don’t see how the Democrats can retain the West Virginia seat of Manchin walks away.

The probably spend most time on fundraising, followed by constituent service/schmoozing; then, maybe, comes legislating. Many (if not most) leave DC Thursday night, return Monday night, so they’re actually working in DC 3 days a week, when Congress is in session (maybe 50% of the year). They attend committee hearings, go to floor votes. But the ‘heavy lifting’ for writing/reading legislation falls to staff.
Interestingly, many stay in DC, spend more time here, AFTER they’re out of office. Lobbying is VERY profitable, but it doesn’t have quite the power/ego boost of actually holding office.

The only way to win blue hell-holes like CA is to run fearlessly as a conservative, and let the chips fall where they be. But they could run as a Gay Republican and win right?

Reid, who turns 75 in a week, is another potential retirement.

Old Mush Mouth had better run out before the indictments start rolling in. Why is nobody working on all of his shady Nevada deals?

But they could run as a Gay Republican and win right? LOLAs we all have seen with Carl DeMaio, who can't win any election he enters, in what has become liberal San Diego proper.

Part of me wants to wish that, but I know it’s not a very Christian wish for me to make.

“Dumb as a brick” Boxer is finally retiring. Good riddance you pathetic example of liberal insanity. This was the same woman who was in the House as part of the check cashing scandal, something anyone else would have been put in jail for. So long you evil fool, hopefully your brick will be thrown in the junk pile of history, never to be heard from again.
