No, they are just hypocrites which is why so many of them who support "gun control" for us peons, either own and/or carry themselves, or have hired security who do. They just want us disarmed, the better to impose their will upon us. They know an unarmed citizen has no chance against armed thugs (or "unarmed" thugs, a la the gentle giant), they just don't care.
