A white dude of similar proportions would be equally “scary.”
The excuses, pray the Lord that it is so, may slowly be wearing away here, and the black community may finally realize that it is holding the bag for a philosophy that can only hurt them.
My personal take, as if anyone cares: probably Mike, after first running away from the cop (who was NOT shooting while he did), in rage, turned around and effected a sort of football play with arms high and dashed at the officer, lowering his head in a charge as he did.
This is a situation where it would have been “nice” to have used a taser, but after being beaten like he had been, there might not have been time to grab a taser.
Wilson said he didn’t have a taser because the dept. didn’t have enough for all officers.
Tasers don't always work. I recently read of an incident where some cops tazed a large suspect with little effect. They had to end up shooting the suspect. I read of another incident where a cop tazed a suspect, and the suspect still managed to get to the cop, subdue him, and get his gun and kill him. Someone like Brown who was probably acting under huge amounts of adrenaline might not have even noticed the taze. If he had reached Wilson, there's a good chance Wilson would not have been able to draw his gun.
In that case, the much larger Brown could have knocked (according to a number of witnesses) the already wobbly Wilson down and killed him by beating him to death or taking his gun and shooting him. Who among the sane doubts that's exactly what Brown would have done if he had managed to reach Wilson?
