Are you about to enjoy your Thanksgiving turkey? Well, Salon writer Lindsay Abrams wants you to stop. Stop right now! Not content to give liberal ideology a rest even on this holiday, Abrams attempts to guilt trip her readers into giving up turkey for Thanksgiving.
Her arguments against turkey are pretty much what we've heard before. That modern Thanksgiving turkeys are not natural in that they are too fat to fly or breed. Also we get hit with guilt trips about their living conditions. Of course, such turkeys would never even exist in the first place if they were not so ideal for the Thanksgiving table in terms of weight and cost. So here is Abrams doing her to dissuade us from enjoying turkey today:

Well my doc advised me to eat MORE turkey, not only on Thanksgiving because it’s low in fat and cholesterol. Salons warped opinions trump what trained medical professionals know?
Agreed. It sure seems that liberals always find something to complain about.
Not to over generalize, but on so many issues, it seems that liberals lecture us about what is wrong with us, what is wrong about the way we live, the houses we live in, what is wrong about the cars we drive, what is wrong with society, what is wrong with big business, how modern society pollutes the environment, how society discriminates against certain groups of people, ad nauseum.
Can’t stand the foul fowl myself but I don’t demand that others not eat it. That would make me a liberal.
Actually, tomorrow I will be placing turkey, gravy, and cranberry sauce into hollowed out arepas. Arepas are ideal for this since the outside part is thick enough to contain the gravy so it is like having this as a sandwich without the mess an ordinary sandwich would be due to the gravy.
Shoot, I just don’t really like turkey all that much. And hence I feel little obligation to consume it on Thanksgiving. My brother and I are just having salisbury steaks and chicken parmesan for our protein on this Thanksgivin.

If turkeys are un-”
natural” and can only exist because man created them, and that is bad . . . let’s apply that reasoning to devolved welfare parasites.
Both are arificial constructs.
Both are bipeds.
Both are incapable of life without others caring for them.
While both can be said to be ‘turkey’s, one is safe to eat, the other could give you G*d only knows what diseases.
I like to debone the bird and run it through a meat grinder. I then mince onion, celery, yellow pepper, and mix the whole works with Miracle Whip and a touch of mustard. A splendid sandwich filler if ever there was one!
The bones etc I toss in a pot and simmer for several hours to make stock which I freeze for soup, or gravy for the next bird.
I, for one, am going to honor her request by having another helping ...
