Great reader comment from the article page:
“Here is a 1000 word essay about one subjective term used by a police officer. Um. ok. This reminds of of the elaborate explanations of abstract paintings. Look, you can see what you want to in a term used by Wilson, but there is a ton of history and social interpretation being projected on this and it’s really really out of hand, I’m sorry.”
That reader nailed it.
The officer said Brown looked like a demon charging him...
For the religious amongst us, is it so improbable that a demon actually could have possessed Michael and driven him to his death via cop-assisted suicide?
Why wasn’t this possibility included in NPR’s massive reach for any explanation?
savage, destructive criminals.
That describes Brown to a “t”.
Fixed!
The gentle giant...
He must be a racist to think such a thing of a fine young man like Michel Brown.
After reading this psychobabble, I had to go out and buy more toilet paper.
Any kid who is about 6’4”, 290 lbs is, when angry, a “brute”. I’m 6’2”, 240 lbs and this guy could easily have taken me, even when I was in good health.
Need to know what kind of drugs and what amounts were in Browne’s body. Also raises the issue of whether he was a habitual drug user, where did he get his drugs from, and how did he pay for them.
The name “Goff” raises some very big hackles. Need to know who his parents are/were. If you are from California and follow radical issues, you’ll know what I’m talking about.
Jesus cast out demons many times. He also specifically explained that some symptoms were not caused by demons, while others were. I find that very interesting, because if He was simply making things up, why bother differentiating between the two? Why not just say all illnesses were demon caused?
Therefore, it’s not a stretch for believers to say demons still exist and are currently active in the Good vs. Evil spiritual war described in the Bible. As described, that war isn’t simply spiritual. It has physical manifestations.
In other words, it’s entirely possible Darren Wilson was demon possessed at the time. It’s also possible that Darren needed no help from demons. Maybe he was just a thug.
And, of course, Wilson's perception had nothing at all to do with the behavior of the Gentle Giant, who also happened to be high on pot.
I wonder if that little store clerk thought Brown looked and acted like a black brute. Victims of knockout games probably think like that too. Little kids getting shot by gang bangers probably have those kinds of thoughts, just before they die. It could be that those descriptions were true on the old plantations, like they are on the Democrat plantations.
It's then that you have to wonder if they're simply lying or so obtuse no amount of facts and reasoning reaches them. It's not even remotely debatable that black males are by far the most violent members of American society. It's beyond dispute.
typical crapola being pushed by NPR
“...has historical echoes of the “black brute” caricatures that portrayed black men as savage, destructive criminals.” So their tendencies have been noted for some years now?
Yep, it’s basic survival instinct. I frequently stop at the 24 hour stores after getting off work at night and the only time I felt uncomfortable was when a young black male gave me the gangsta “stare” as I was checking out and walked past. I mean, I have no idea why he copped attitude towards a middle-aged woman keeping to herself but I did have a worker escort me to my car that night.
It is the meta-narrative of the Left:
There is a victim, a victimizer and a hero.
Their victim, po’ black people
Their victimizer, white cop with an attitude
Their hero, as usual, it is them, the liberal.
Because, ultimately, it is all about the liberal being the hero, saving the victim, stopping the victimizer.
They do not care for the real story. To the liberal, it is all about the narrative: Hero saves the day.
