One look at those baggy eyes says drunk. Not a good choice in the first place.
I could give Hagel a pass for having to work for the most treacherous, anti-American President in history, but Hagel took the job knowing his role was to further dismantle the US military.
And this is what really infuriates me: Hagel never stood up for his own troops, civilian Dept of Defense employees, or military retirees.
He allowed the administration to run roughshod over the religious rights of Christians in the US military. He allowed hateful extremists like Mikey Weinstein to pummel Christians who serve in uniform, while at the same time Hagel threw hundreds of millions of dollars at "same sex" sexual playthings who play husband and wife.
He brutally enforced the persecution of Christians, and everyone knew this persecution came from Obama and his inner circle. But Hagel clearly agreed with the persecution. He could have resigned THEN out of principle if he so chose, and would have been remembered as a hero and man of convictions. But he didn't, he throttled Christians.

He allowed 700,000 patriotic Americans, 43% of them who are veterans themselves, to be furloughed and lose 20% of their paychecks. These included DoD doctors, nurses, engineers, maintainers, and even the lowest paid secretaries and janitors.
He allowed the US military to be cut to the bone, and did nothing. Later on, it was clear he regretted some of his collaboration with his Communist boss in the White House, but it was too little, too late to save his soiled reputation.
