Evidently NATO does, we just conducted military exercises in Ukraine, and Poland, and created a new reaction force to station forward, and now this article.

Putin does not have any military muscle to waste, if he ever engaged us then his military would be gutted, humiliated, and Russia would be left in dire straights trying to defend itself from it’s internal and Eastern threats.

Gotta agree with you. Today’s military is not what it once was. It is rife with PC, affirmative action, environmentalism, and beltway opportunist who shill for suppliers and consultants. Today’s military is rapidly becoming a domestic threat versus a threat to our external enemies.

The days of reflexively defending the military is over. Our military is supposed to defend our freedom from foreign enemies. I cannot adequately define what it is doing today. We cannot defend ourselves form the domestic enemies of freedom so why the focus on Putin? He is one of my lesser concerns.

Didn’t we just spend about a gazzilion dollars a few years ago to bring them all back to the states?

Thanks...I don’t need you to go to jail posting non-public information. I read the WASHINGTON TIMES and other source, and it’s MORE THAN CLEAR what Russia has been doing since Putin took power...and, of course, it’s OBVIOUS what we’ve been doing. I hope we just get a black eye, rather than see our cities incinerated.

The Russian Empire has always had it’s fifth column in America, and as Putin tries to reassemble it and recreate the threat to Americans and the world’s free peoples, we see his activists working us here.

Some of us have been dealing with these guys since the 60s.

I imagine a few here have been opposing them since the 1950s.

I wholly agree with you on Putin’s military so why the scaremongering? NATO is posturing and will continue to allow Putin to nibble his way through the smaller and weaker European countries. He can easily scare the west into submission with nuclear saber rattling or maybe just threaten to start burning coal.

The Russian empire not only threatened our very existence and the human race, it also dominated most global events and made the world a much more violent, deadly, and dangerous place.

Putin is trying to recreate that threat and power, and this time, to win.

I know the Russia of today isn’t the USSR of yesterday but they can still tear us a nice big, extra one because we let our military go to pot under the Kenyan usurper. If we had the military of the early 1970’s, even with 1960’s and 1970’s era equipment, Russia of 2014 would still be no match for it but we don’t. AS much as I know the Russians are doing wrong in the Ukraine and if I could snap my fingers, I’d toss them an extra 5000 M60A3’s, but in reality, we can’t do much except run off at the mouths and keyboards.

Let's hope this equipment, far too little, is positioned in Germany.

In the "Two plus Four" treaty, ratified by the US Senate, NATO agreed to not place "Foreign Troops", "Heavy Equipment" or Nukes into the old @Warsaw Pact countries...and for states of the Old Soviet Union.

It was done to facilitate the unification of Germany.

We should not violate that treaty unless we are willing to fight Russia or willing to observe THEIR expansion.

Your thoughts?

Many in the Army are disillusioned and moral is very low. What is going on with the Navy is even worse. Tell me genius, how many of our carriers are deployed at this time?

Weapons platforms are falling into decrepitude. R & D is nonexistent.

Yet you spout your nonsense about how we have the most powerful military on the plant.

Well, I hate to tell you this skippy, we don't.

Our forces are hollowed out. It'll take 20 years to repair the damage already done and obama is still cutting defense spending.

This is not me being ‘pro russian’. This is me telling you you are wrong, but I doubt you are man enough to admit you're wrong.

Seems to me your vast knowledge of our military wouldn't fill a thimble.

Quite a theory, Russia is too weak to be a threat, yet they win because we are easily scared and will submit to his will.

Submission seems to be your goal, it isn’t mine.

“An attack on Munich is the same as an attack on Chicago.”

“Our goal is not a nuclear-free, or a tank-free, or an army-free Europe, but a war-free Europe,”

Interesting, you think that Russia is the most powerful military on the planet?

You can read my thoughts in my posts.

Yours aren’t so clear, you want more moved forward, or less, or zero, or for us to withdraw from NATO entirely?

I can’t tell how far your pro Russia support goes.

Russia is expanding by invading sovereign countries and the west should respond to this.

What worries me are all the practice cruise missile attacks russia keeps running.

First time I've ever heard of russian bombers with fighter escorts in the Gulf of Mexico.

The fact that the heavy bombers have fighter escort is particularly troublesome.
