PARIS France suspended the planned delivery of a warship to Russia on Tuesday, after months of growing speculation about what would be the biggest arms sale ever by a NATO country to the Kremlin. ·

It starts to resemble a soap opera.
I bet Vlad is going to be p.o’d with the French for stopping the delivery oh his Assault Ship.
1) Nothing in Russia works. 2) They’re still surrender monkeys.
Meanwhile France has allowed the Russian crew back on board the first Mistral and has removed the second Mistral from dry dock, two events which wouldn’t have happened if the French were seriously considering breaching their contract to deliver.
Nonsense.
The Russian crew has various systems aboard for fitting out which must be maintained until the final disposition of the vessel is determined, whether for Russia or otherwise.
The second Mistral class warship must be removed from the drydock to make room for other projects to use the drydock.
So when France unilaterally acts upon their own perceived security problems Russia should just shut off the gas...

“So when France unilaterally acts upon their own perceived security problems Russia should just shut off the gas...”
Russia is already engaged in multiple violations of international law with respect to its breaches of agreements regarding its natural gas sales and shipments.
France is under an obligation to international law with respect to the duty to refrain from supplying armaments to an aggressor nation, Russia, who is currently engaged in the invasion, occupation, and permanent territorial conquest of a member nation of the United Nations. In a case such as this the legal obligation to refrain from supplying armaments to Russia while it is engaged in its unlawful conduct supersedes any contractual agreements for the purchase and delivery of such armaments in violation of international law.
I see. I reply sarcastically, as I consider this whole thing a circus:
Please provide source for the UN Security Council Resolution relating to economic sanctions against the hence-labeled ‘aggressor’ country of Russia...
“Please provide source for the UN Security Council Resolution....”
It predates the United Nations as precedent with the Kellogg-Briand Pact 1928 (Pact of Paris, 1928)(General Treaty for Renunciation of War as an Instrument of National Policy) and the Budapest Memorandum 1938 which set forth the duties and responsibilities of the signatories of the Kellogg-Briand Pact 1928 with respect to aggressors. These precedents were further extended in the various articles of the Charter of the United Nations.
Lol..the second Mistral was removed from dry dock as per the schedule to complete its build out, and work on it continues apace.
As for what other projects the French shipyard might have, the only ones I'm aware of are...building more Mistrals for Russia.
“Lol..the second Mistral was removed from dry dock as per the schedule to complete its build out, and work on it continues apace.”
Delivery was suspended indefinitely on 25 November 2014.
“As for what other projects the French shipyard might have, the only ones I’m aware of are...building more Mistrals for Russia.”
No, only the first two Mistral warships were to be built in France at the time the deliveries wee suspended in 2014. Another two Mistral warships were to be constructed in Russia with French assistance. Now there will be no third or fourth Mistral warships built for Russia in France or Russia.
The Sainte-Nazaire shipyard will be constructing some new cruise ships, not Russian Mistral warships.
Russia’s aggressions in the form of the invasion, occupation, and conquest of present day Ukraine has nothing whatsoever to do with the current and future relations between the United States and Mexico.
Ukraine borders Russia. Ukraine is a failed State. Ukraine has been a pawn of Russia/NATO power play for decades. Ukraine is a key hub for Russian gas exports. Ukraine is a Russian problem, predating the ‘cold war’.
The US would be so smart to take its own security as seriously. /s Oh, wait: We invaded Iraq to protect our own energy security and, hence, our economic security.
Quantifying ‘current & future relations’ between the US & Mexico to defend Ukraine is telling...
...you’ve exposed yourself.
France gets most of their energy from nuclear power.
Noted.
Yet France is #4 in EU Gas consumption, consuming half as much as #1 Germany, 16% of which (FR) comes from Russia...
My comment was not a literal tit-for-tat, but representative, as France is a member of the European Union and so-called ‘sanctions’ against Russia are EU-sanctions. Thus France’s actions are EU actions.
