As a small business owner, I would never open back up if I was one of the targeted businesses.

That’s what happened to Watts, CA in 1965. The locals burned down stores during the rioting and the stores closed for good. You can still hear civil rights activists complaining that stores won’t locate in South Central LA. Corporations have long memories so it would seem.
