Thank you..no not a Journalist. Let's just say I enjoy watching International and National politics sufficient enough to formulate my own opinions on how I see things.....and they won't always agree with the media push here in the states.

I think our media has become very much ineffective when it comes to what's really going on in the world....and oddly enough other nation leaders and peoples see it as so quite easily.

When you are acquainted with other news sources besides the US you get a much better handle on events.

I enjoyed very much doing the Egypt Revolution....it was exciting because we got on it here on FR quite awhile before the news was reporting so we were able to sift through things more accurately because of that. There were three of us bouncing information and bringing it here in order to tell the true story...and some others who would chime in.

Generally once a story gets moving then the pundits etc begin to put their own twists on it, often grasping for straws to make sense of it as things move along. Also to often they haven't done any homework to understand what is really at the root of things.

Egypt was all about the Muslim Brotherhood and taking them down and out..once again.... but Washington had a pretty strong grip on what the news could say about the Brotherhood since they work with them....World Wide. So the news agencies were often getting it all wrong ..... I was so happy when SISI took over, even though many were opposed to him doing so,...the country NEEDS a firm hand and that's just how it is in many of the Muslim country's.

understand what is really at the root of things

The same dichotomy applies in the current protests as it did in Egypt. The self-serving line promoted by Obama is that it is all about race, while the truth is that it is orchestrated, and all about a diversion from Obama's unpopular agendas in healthcare and immigration. That is as far as my own struggle to understand this has taken me.

Obama has already shunted blacks down the interest-group totem pole. In this evening's speech, he referred to them as "people of color", a term that predominately describes Latinos. Obama now plays the Latino race card, in subtitles, after cultivating blacks for his entire career.

The torched Ferguson businesses remind me of the burned Coptic churches, both symbols of callous disregard. Ted Cruz may be our el-Sisi.
