It's obvious that the police can only do their job if there are ten officers for each lawbreaker. But now they have 100 lawbreakers for each LEO. Here is just one of reports on the scanner:

"Toys R Us is being looted. There is only one PD unit nearby. A hundred cars is entering the parking lot. Need backup."

The LEOs can't fire at the looters because it's not a survivable situation. It would be dangerous even if you are in HMMWV and have a .50 cal machinegun on the roof. A cop or two with .40 handguns are not going to win this battle. All the PD is doing is that they count the crimes and retreat. The looters and arsonists and shooters are perfectly safe from the law. The police is reporting shots fired, subjects in masks, speeding vehicles - and nothing is done about any of that. The police would need ten or twenty cars to stop a car full of thugs.

I don’t agree. I’ve seen a .50 machine gun fire, and that would occupy looters minds.
