I don’t see manslaughter because there is no case. Pure and simple self defense on an attacking felon!! There is no question. Surely they will not apease a lynch mob!! They have to have 4 people say “no bill”— out of 12. 9 whites and 3 blacks. This is a no bill if I ever saw one. I would be shocked at doing anything to this great officer and public servant.
I saw on twitter that the MO governor is on his way to Ferguson. I would think they would wait until after normal business hours local time, to allow commuters to get home. But then again, the longer you wait, the better chance of it leaking out.
Maybe, but we haven't seen what the GJ has seen. There have been rumors, innuendo, and "leaks", but I really have no idea how this is going to play out.
Same think with the Zimmerman case, but he got indicted anyway. When the full force of the entire US government is coming down on you, it's hard for a grand jury to not decide to pass the buck and let some future trial jury deal with it.
But you forget that we now inhabit a world where up is down and wrong is right. Law is what the Men in Black opine on any given day. The language is corrupted, and the minds of our fellow Americans are as well.
All is up for grabs.
