To be fair (and Hagel was my congress critter for years), he does love America.
Word is from back home that he fought Obama quite a bit on things, and was trying to adjust the remnants of the military to fight a more 3rd generation style of warfare.
Now he failed at that, which isn’t surprising, but I think he got canned because he was to “pro military”.
It is probably Obama getting his people in places for when he makes his next move.
