I met this guy when I was a 17 year old college freshman.
To each their own.

#1 with ginger ale. I like Canada Dry ginger ale but get Schweppes for tonic.

right on.
It's been a while.
But that's the one.
Martini. Straight up.
(just a little) dirty.
A pair of them.
Unless I'm in a Gunter Grass, Flounder-primitive mood, then it's three-to-five.

While I’m thinking of it, I also like having a Negroni - 1 part gin, 1 part red vermouth, and 1 part Campari or Aperol. Not what you’d expect. Killer.

I have yet to have a bartender mess up a double jack, neat.

to the author: getting a quality drink at an airport is the last thing that bothers me about airports. guy who wrote this must not understand first-world problems aren’t worth a pissy article.

I never cared to drink but I would probably love to hang around your late uncle. I’m a good nurser of sodas.

Water in your bourbon? No how, no way. Manhattans neat. Ice is only good for chilling the glass. Why dilute good Blanton’s with water. Nectar of the gods.

“Lack of planning”. I have no sympathy and fail to understand the merits of this article. This is stupid. One of the first things I do when traveling is find out where I can source my own booze. Shots are a ripoff.
And the author is an idiot: Who quotes their own words for a closing sentence? I’m not even going to address the ‘mob guys’ bravado...

Me to bartender: Scotch on the rocks.
Him: What brand?
Me: There’s more than one?
The best was when I was trying to entertain a large-boned wahine and ordered a “Scotch on the rocks, neat”

My college friends thought the Who’s “Dr. Jimmy” was written about me and my Beefeater’s. I’ve mellowed much since then, but will still (quietly) enjoy my Beefeater’s gin & tonic.

Trader Joes sells their branded bourbon (made in Louisville). Pretty decent $15 bourbon. Especially if your budget has been decimated like mine has this year.Thanx for the tip. We recently had a Trader Joe's open in Broward County.
