It looks fair like a CZ75. Does this mean you only fear guns you can recognize?

I would fear any firearm if I was certain it was a firearm and it was being pointed at me or anyone. But if it is a kid holding it my first thought is it may be a replica, airgun or just a stupid kid. Now the story said the kid hadn’t pointed it at anyone and if this is so then there was time for more discernment by way of communication. Albeit not much time, but a decision to shoot is unalterable once taken. I firmly believe it is the duty of a police officer to accept some risk especially when a kid is involved. You would be right to say I was not there so I could not know what was the right thing to do. However, there seems to be too many instances of police shooting first and asking questions latter. This may be due to poor training, equipment, or the wrong type of person being a police officer. All this has sure shaken my confidence that the police will do the right thing.
