“When an officer gives a command, we expect it to be followed,” Tomba said. “The way it looks like right now, it wasn’t followed, but we’re going to continue our investigation.”
What planet do these people live on? Since when does a 12 year old respond “correctly” to commands? I didn’t and my kids didn’t and my grand kids didn’t. And the cop’s kids if he had any didn’t either... So that justifies a shooting?
The cops need to do their job and protect kids (and the rest of us) and not be so damn concentrated on getting home safety. Hell, fireman take risks every day. They’ll run into a burning house. The cops throw in a flash-bang, right into a baby crib... (but then, we can’t have the evidence flushed, can we?)
if you are carrying a weapon - even if you intend no ill will - cops can kill you and not be charged with murder. it’s one of life’s little rules. they can also kill your family pet if they feel it is challenging them.
If the cops don’t start showing a little restraint, the rules of engagement may well have to be changes so they can’t fire until fired upon.
If the caller was “pretty sure it was a fake”. She shouldn’t have called the police. She should have just walked up and taken it from him. She didn’t...why? Wait for it.... She could be sure, and neither could the responding officers.
Officer has to be black or this would be everywhere and have been fully exploited be now. Black life is only important if a white person does the shooting. Otherwise it is a political tool used to divide and conquer /control.
This is awful.
If the kid didn’t pull the gun, would the cops admit it??? Just sayin’...
Well hell then, that's that. Orders are orders, and everyone knows the penalty for not instantly obeying the camp guards.
Bill the kids family for the bullets and send the cops to Hawaii for a month.
Easy case. Next.
What’s with it with Ohio and cops killing people with BB guns? This is the second person killed in as many months.
A grand jury decided not to file charges Wednesday against police officers who shot and killed 22-year-old John Crawford III inside a Beavercreek (Dayton area), Ohio, Wal-Mart for carrying a BB gun

Thank goodness he was just killed by cops for holding a toy gun. If he’d been suspended from school for that, it would have been an outrage.
Ohio is open-carry. I’ve been reading on this case. I think it is hard to exonerate the officers and as some experts have been saying, the police cruiser should not have pulled up right on him. This is a big catastrophe. It happened inside of a second or two. Really, they should have stealthily approached him on foot.
A big deal is made about Michael Brown when Brown did wrong things like assault an officer and then a real case comes and??
