The precedent will be useful if/when a Republican takes the presidency. There are quite a few pernicious laws that can simply be unenforced.

American law does not operate by precedent. (Yes, courts cite precedents from superior courts.)

In America, we have the text of the Constitution, and statutes.

Any Republican who tries doing what Obola is doing will be impeached. That’s because Democrats play to win, while Republicans play in order to be allowed to play.
