To see this happen in churches (and the scuttlebutt I am hearing, whether true or not, is that it’s about of equal prevalence in Roman Catholic and other Christian denominations) indicates that the church has far to go even to help its own ministers (let alone its laity) get such a large measure of Christ that they will overcome these pernicious habits while still on earth. I’m not even saying get married, although St. Paul advises it as one haven from immorality.
Marriage certainly isn’t for everyone, and when deviants marry to hide it (as one of our former governors did here in NJ) the results can be catastrophic.
