(KMOV.com) – It can be a terrifying situation when a driver is in their vehicle and is suddenly surrounded by protesters and it happened multiple times during protesting in Ferguson.
So what do you do if you find yourself in this situation? News 4’s Sharon Reed sat down with two security experts who shared their 60 years’ experience.
It’s important to remember to:
Remain calm. Getting excited tends to get others excited. Slow down. Don’t run anyone over where you will injure them. Stay in your vehicle. Keep the doors locked and windows rolled up. If you are inside your car, police can identify who are the victims and who are the aggressors.

Exactly right, run over enough people and eventually your car/truck will stall, maybe some small satisfaction in taking a dozen or so with you as you die.

Automatics: Turn steering wheel all the way to one side, place left foot on brake pedal, and give the gas 1/2 pedal, then release the brake pedal as you give it full gas. It three seconds there will be no one near you as you go round and round flinging them to the periphery. Aim to the exit and give it gas.
Sticks: Slight variation, turn wheel all the way, place in first gear, drop the clutch and floor the gas. The rest is the same.
Once safe, get out of the car and report it car jacked and stolen, asap.

I actually thought about this when I read the article. Disgusting
I would go along with most of the wonderful ideas posted. But, out of an abundance of caution, I would also try laying on the horn as hard as I could, throughout most of the maneuvers. And I think activating the washers, front and rear, might tend to add even more drama. If the opportunity presented itself, I might also try to catch some fingers in my power windows.
