The last execution in California occurred in 2006. In July, 2014, a Federal Judge declared California’s capital punishment law to be unconstitutional. Looks like their execution chamber is going to remain in pristine condition for quite some time.

I think I remember that one. I was stuck in a NY airport all night and was further punished with CNN. All night they kept hammering how this guy had changed; he even wrote a couple of children’s books in prison, so therefore he should not be put to death.

The reporters said precious little about what crime(s) he committed to warrant the death penalty.
