I think what he said about the thug culture was pretty much ignored. What he said (and it was YEARS ago) was applauded by the right, but it really didn’t affect the black thug culture at all.
I think this is just as simple as someone coming forward making the claim in a different day and age. Once one came forward, I suspect it encouraged others (who may have thought they were very alone) to say, “Yes! He assaulted me, too!”
I also suspect many of them felt they were somewhat at fault because they were “working” to become famous. Who knows. I listened to the interview of Juanita Broderick yesterday - the one from Dateline. I understood completely why she didn’t come forward. Firstly, it’s Bill Clinton, secondly, she was having an affair on her husband and that sure wouldn’t sound good, and third, she just wanted it to go away.
