And take note - Obama didnt exactly grant amnesty to millions of illegal aliens. He just said that henceforth the government wasnt going to do anything about enforcing the law. Worried about being deported? Relax. All were saying is were not going to deport you.
The States who sue will have a strong case in court because it is clearly who REFUSES to enforce the law he swore to uphold.
It was called SHAMNESTY back when George "Dubya" Bush suggested something similar.
Effectively it may be de facto amnesty but it hasn't changed one law on the books. To me it seems that the true legal status of the illegal aliens remains unchanged.
They are still illegal aliens according to the laws on the books.
As far as the law itself - I believe there is a law on the books prohibiting illegal aliens from being employed.
So this would place potential employers in a quandary - Obama gives the illegals a green card and says "Give them jobs". But anyone employing them would also be directly violating an extant law.
I'm sure that Obama never considered that his order might open employers of these "forgiven" illegals to legal action.
But it follows that an employer might also file a lawsuit against Obama for ordering them to employ illegals in violation of a standing law specifically prohibiting it.
