I was at NAVRADRECFAC IB (or NavSecGruDept, or NavComTelSta, which ever you wanted to call it, we sure had a lot of names!) from 1989-1992 and was CTT3. Good times, and lots of fun EM things going on then.

It was pretty awesome, 0 to 10.2 Ghz intercept range, with HFDF to boot.

Good times...

I was working for SAIC at the time of the CG-49 testing. We were contracted to look into compatibility of a new data link. Unfortunately, the SPS-49 honked out harmonics way above it's band and all over where this new link was to work. A low pass filter at one point would have fixed it, but there was resistance to retrofitting.

Dunno if that link was ever installed, cannot recall what the name of it was.
