Congressman Clement Vallandigham

Vallandigham was a former Congressman and a noted Copper Head. He was arrested by military authorities for inciting soldiers to desert their posts in a time of war.

Lincoln ordered him to be released and sent South to the Confederates.

Ok, what is your excuse for Lincoln's actions in Maryland?where he had arrested:

Mayor Brown, U.S. Congressman Henry May, the city council, the police commissioner, and the entire Board of Police, were arrested and imprisoned at Fort McHenry.”

oh! and THEN as if that were not enough!

quote “One third of the members of the Maryland General Assembly were then arrested on September 17, 1861, the first day of the legislature’s new session, to prevent any anti-war votes”

you see that? “to prevent any anti-war votes” !! ahhh Lincoln, what a GREAT GUY!!! *puke*
