There was a news story recently in these parts about a felon with a handgun who was checked into a hotel room. Somehow, the gun discharged accidentally, went through the wall, and killed an innocent 14 year old boy in the next room. Besides the fact that he shouldn't have had the gun in the first place, his clumsy, unsafe handling of the weapon cost an innocent boy his life. This type of carelessness and lack of responsibility (gun safety) is what I am referring to...
What I am says is this: If you're going to own anything that has the power to maim and kill, know what you're doing. Just because I can buy a chainsaw doesn't make me a lumberjack, and just because I can buy a gun doesn't make me HICKOK45. There's going to be enough crap going down soon, and accidental shootings of innocents isn't one I want to see become the story touted by the MSM. Otherwise, defend away...
