I was abused by a Catholic priest when I was a kid, in some other part of the world. Never heard or read about him as I grew up, never knew what happened to him.

When I heard decades years later that he was on trial in my state for abusing some kid, I immediately called the DA to tell them my story. They drove out and spent an hour or two with me, recording my story.

I wasn’t interested in money, or even seeing him burn. As a matter of fact, when I went to his trial and saw him for the first time after all those years, I felt only pity for such a twisted person, not hatred. I thought, how much it must suck to have what he had for a life, a twisted waste. No hatred at all, just...pity. Strange, I would never in a million years have thought that is the way I would react when I saw him nearly four decades later.

I don’t know why I called the DA. It wasn’t for revenge, it wasn’t for closure, it wasn’t for money...

I guess it was for the truth. Just to be sure the truth was told.

So...I look at this situation, and am wondering the same thing about these women. It could be for money, but it just doesn’t feel that way to me.

I am believing the women more with each passing week. Each thought they were isolated cases, and nobody would believe them, so why bother?

And Cosby seduced/tricked/mentored them into embarrassing/compromising locations and situations before drugging and raping them. After they came to, fuzzy and blurry, they must have thought,

1. Nobody will believe nobody me, compared to The Great And Wonderful Bill Cosby,

2. Even if they half believe me, they will call me a slut for being in his hotel room, etc.

Waiting a long time to tell your story to someone that just might believe you would have to be very cathartic.

Some of these women have been trying to get the public’s attention to this for years.

It is only NOW , after Cosby criticized Obama’s wrecking crew in Ferguson, that the media is spreading it around.

“I guess it was for the truth. Just to be sure the truth was told.”

Is it possible you did it to help show that the courageous kid who made the public accusation (and who of course in effect was on trial himself) wasn’t a liar?

I am truly sorry for the pain you were caused... but you called the DA, not the press.... that I think is what I think makes a lot of this more dubious than it may be.

Most of these stories I’ve read on this follow some line, I wanted to be a star, he was Bill Cosby... I went back with him somewhere, or had an ongoing relationship with him hoping to be a star and at some point was eventually raped.

Now, no criminal charges were ever filed, to my knowledge at any time... there were some civil settlements made to some of these women.

I just have a hard time believing that so many women were victimized and no DA anywhere did anything if they had cases if they were approached by the victims. We aren’t talking a Jerry Sandusky who lived in a small town controlled by a few folks associated with PSU, you are talking about alleged rapes that happened all over the country over the course of decades if allegations are to be believed, and not one resulted in a criminal indictment? I think that’s what makes me keep a skeptical stance at this point....

I don’t think he’s completely innocent, but I think you have a more than a little, buyers remorse going on in some of this.

This article seems to be about as close as Cosby ever got to being charged, and the DA admitted there was not enough evidence to get a conviction.
