MADISON, Wis. (AP) Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker said Tuesday he is seriously considering whether to get into the race for president in 2016, but he hasn't decided yet whether he feels the call to run.
"My personal process is I have to feel like it's a calling, particularly for the time and the effort and the impact it has on family and friends," Walker told AP in a telephone interview from Boca Raton, Florida, where he is attending the Republican Governors Association meeting this week. "It's not something you should yearn for..."
Walker, who won re-election to a second term in November after becoming the nation's first governor to defeat a recall in 2012, said it was "pretty obvious" that running for president is something he should consider.
Walker has taken several steps to keep his name in the mix as a potential GOP contender. Walker published a book in 2013 about his effort taking on public unions that spurred his recall election, he's traveled to Iowa and New Hampshire, and has courted large conservative donors, including casino magnate Sheldon Adelson.
Elected governor three times in four years, Walker commands unusually strong loyalty among conservatives in Wisconsin. Exit polls after his re-election two weeks ago showed he won the votes of 96 percent of Republicans. That kind of support from the party's far-right activists, extended nationally, could fuel Walker's viability in a wide-open fight for the GOP presidential nomination.

I did,doesn’t work,nice try though.
A guy with his positions winning multiple times in Wisconsin is some sort of genius. He would be an excellent choice.
If you don’t like that source here is an article where he is questioned about his immigration stance and expands on it. He uses the buzzwords like fixing a broken system and finding a pathway to citizenship but is very non-committal on questions about citizenship and details. The more I read the less I liked what I read.
I believe his immigration stances have more to do with pressure from industries in the state that hire immigrants. Farms, landscape and snow-plow companies, maid services use immigrants in great numbers. They donate money and they vote. I don’t know how these politicians fail to see how these immigrants are actually going to destroy the economy.
Be careful about throwing your money and support with a candidate who has been doing the political two-step about these important issues because they want to run for prez in 2016. Wait until you know exactly where they stand and what they have said about the important issues. We can afford to ignore a few minor issues we don’t agree with 100% but not the big ones. And immigration policy is a biggie.
Mail me when it works,I’ll watch it.
It worked earlier (at least about an hour ago) and now I get an error message. I guess someone didn’t want people reading it?
I dug through my files and this was the only thing I had saved for Mike Pence. It’s an editorial so make of it what you will.

I have no idea what his viewpoints on immigration are now and if they have changed.
If his name is bandied about enough I’m sure more will pop up.
What did he say?
The logical choice to be the GOP nominee.
Well said.
I was just at the link at 6pm CST. Go check it out it was working then. There is a video right underneath the headline and text of the interview after that.
Walker has the experience, and track record with Wisconsin, and would be a good choice.
He should run. This guy knows how to beat leftists.
He should run. This guy knows how to beat leftists.
I just watched it,I like this guy more the more I see him.
Get back to us Gov. Walker when youve fixed your Open-Border policy positions.
Won’t even be an issue for 2016. Whatever happens with the border will happen well before then. I don’t know why you hate him so much. No other politician has been through the hell he has and still came out ahead. He reminds me of Reagan so much. I think he is our way to the future. Young Gen X is so exciting.
You really can't make an assessment until Walker declares and comes up with an official position as part of his campaign.
Like I said. Walker is a Governor. He has zero impact on the immigration debate.
I like him too. I voted for him for Governor. 3 times! But I can’t agree with his immigration stance unless it has changed. A lot has happened since he made those statements.
Voting for him for president with a immigration policy that I believe will harm our country I can’t do however. It’s an entire different ballgame.
I’m glad you could finally access the video.
Scott Walker ping.
