Recall a couple of years ago when the border got a bit tough due to the elections going on, so the Reconquistadors thought they'd buffalo the Canadians the way they do the Americans.
So they started turning up in Canadian airports demanding asylum, attempting to get in/stay in with forged docs just like they do here, etc. The usual hustle.

It simply does not make sense. I have worked all over Mexico and IMNVHO it is a country of vast potential. Why the hell Mexican people are diverted here instead of staying at home to develop Mexico is what is ludicrous.
