I remember the VW Transporter well, aka Microbus or Kombi which got turned into psychedelic hippie-filled “peacewagons” in the late 60’s.

There was a camper version & I also saw this model you showed in Germany a lot.

Still digging the chick in gingham, tho.

Those VW bus people were strange, I was my parents 79 Econoline van and we passed a few VW busses that were going to Seabrook New Hampshire to protest the nuclear plant. Those people looked at us like we were evil.

Of course, we had a 'Ted Kennedy killed more people than nuclear power.' bumper sticker on it. :-)
