CLAM LAKE The war on drugs has a new battleground and its deep in the heart of Wisconsins great northwoods. Drug traffickers with ties to Mexican cartels are setting up shop in our state and national forests. FOX6 Investigators got an exclusive invitation to see whats left of one massive pot farm near Clam Lake.
In just the past four years, state agents have wiped out more than $70 million worth of marijuana grown on the same public lands where people go to hunt, hike and camp and thats just what theyve found. Drug traffickers are setting up shop in Wisconsins forests and even pro-marijuana groups say theyre destroying the environment.
About 30 miles from Lake Superior, where the locals build monuments to muskie and early spring warm spells are interrupted by the occasional snowstorm, a team of state and federal agents recently led the FOX6 Investigators on a 30-minute hike into the Chequamegon National Forest, just south of Clam Lake.
Its a path to what was once a well-hidden marijuana farm.
There is no large field, but a series of small sites scattered throughout the forest to make

Weve got great trout streams on the Chequamegon-Nicolet that could be impacted. Wildlife could be impacted. Soils could be impacted for years to come, Suzanne Flory, spokeswoman for the US Forest Service said.
They are wrecking the environment. They are doing exactly what we dont want to do to the planet because they have to grow it illegally, Kemp said.
This country would be so much better off without the dopers.
I thought I read someplace that if Wisconsin hunters were an army, it would be the 8th or 10th largest army in the world???
Sounds like it’s time the Badger State hunters get organized to take out “the trash”.
Drug cartels; Clear enemy of the United States. Eric Holder and The One arming them and assisting them enter the USA - Two clear cut acts of Treason.
I thought it was Michigan but according to Michigan’s DNR there were 661,788 deer hunters that took 385,000 deer in 2013. Cartels shoot back, deer don’t.
Wasn’t the Bush administration involved in arming cartels also? Perhaps destabilization of Mexico, removal of the border, and mass migration between the peoples of the US and Mexico are part of a plan to form a North American superstate.
Recently the U.S. Department Of State announced a $5 million reward for the capture of Jose Maria El Charly or Z43 Guizar Valencia, the man alleged to lead the southern faction of the Zetas responsible of multi-ton drug shipments as well as countless murders in Mexico and Guatemala.
Guizar, a U.S. citizen as per the Department of State, is from Tulare, California and is 35-years-old. He is wanted on drug and money laundering conspiracy charges in multiple districts throughout the nation and the Department of State Is offering a $5 million reward for his capture. Mexicos Attorney Generals Office is not offering a reward for Guizars capture and no arrest warrants for his capture could be confirmed when Breitbart Texas consulted with Mexican law enforcement agencies. Top Zeta Cartel Boss is a US Citizen, not wanted by Mexican authorities
shouldn’t you mean the criminals?
Bush never let the weapons cross the border and accounted for them all.
I don’t trust police in stories like this. They contrive this into a story to help their confiscation of private property and scare the ignorant. The value is pumped up the damage to environment inflated.
Northern Wisconsin? That seems like a pretty short growing season.
Have they developed a new cold hardy variety of weed? Here’s the tough question: Would the anti GMO people still smoke it, or would they boycott the newly developed cheap and plentiful cannabis?
Interesting picture of their campsite at the link.
Things I noticed right off the cuff:
The old saying “if you can’t tie a knot, tie a lot” applied.
Top Ramen, a hearty woodsman favorite.
Looks like they used an axe to gnaw the end of a log.
Home Depoe orange five gallon bucket painted camouflage.
Feel free to add. I enjoy setting up hunting and fishing camps in wilderness settings. Was just curious how the cartel does it...lol
Let me see when and where and how often did hear that if pot is legal the Mexican cartels will go bust?.
There are marijuana farms all over the hilly western part of Wisconsin and southeastern Minnesota. Lots of meth operations too.

Check out article and #8.
Thanks, MamaDearest.
Drug cartels invade Wisconsins north woods.
FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.
Of course they're not pursuing this thug. He's out of Me-hi-co and could even be sending $$ back there...to his mama. And let's see how hard our gov't goes after him.
shouldnt you mean the criminals?
No, I mean illegal drug users. This country would be so much better off without people who resorted to using mind altering substances.
So if a drug, like alcohol, is legal, would the country be better off without those that drink it and have their minds altered?
