Punishment is prosecution in a court of law.

Impeachment is not punishment. Impeachment is removal of a person from Office to protect the country (or state, etc) from their misuse of authority and the endangerment they pose.

“Impeachment is removal of a person from Office .. “

Au contraire, Pierre.
Impeachment is a two-step process. A vote in the House for impeachment and a vote in the Senate for removal.

OK, class ... if the House votes for impeachment—as they did with President Sinkmaster—then it goes to the Senate senate livestock pen where RINO and `rat blowhards do a gut-check, find they are gutless and fail to vote for conviction and removal.

So Gowdy’s comment was a non sequiter. There’s no way Slow Joe would succeed Zero.
Even if we had 67 GOP sinators, a few like McStain, Linda Graham and other RINOs would abstain.
Politics is numbers. All you need to know in politics is how to count.
Of course, if we had a GOP chief executive charged with a scintilla of what Obama has done, as with Richard Nixon—`Fast and Furious’, the IRS, EPA, BLM (Cliven Bundy), NSA, queering the military, Benghazi, terrorist pardons/arms to terrorists, an out-of-control national Nanny wife, weekly assaults on the 2nd amend., saturating the country with illegal aliens, and on and on and on—again, as with Nixon, the drumbeat from the 4th Estate would be loud and steady, and eventually the McStain Democrat branch of the GOP would be the first to go to him/her, hat in hand, long faces, to ask that s/he resign “for the good of the country” or face impeachment **which they imply they would vote for** in order to get some praise from the MSM and the `rats: “What a statesman!”.

So all we ask—now that we’ve handed them the keys to the kingdom—is that they—clearing throat—do something in order to: keep this megalomaniac busy until he can be shown the door, and 2. ventilate some burning issues (see above) that we hash-out here every day.

And not surprisingly, that’s just too much to ask of them. So our Hero Trey makes a flippant remark,
“You don’t really want Joe Biden do you?”

That’s spinach and to hell with it.
