Well ain’t that the pot calling the kettle black. Congress can and has voted their own pay raises and perks and are exempt from what the commoners have to live by.
"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."
Do as I suggested for Congress 10 years ago.
Pay them at or near minimum wage for the privilege of serving, and only two years per term and bar every one of them from running for another office or moving into another government position. Abolish all government unions. They get none or bare minimum heath benefits like the private sector. Outside of national security type issues, no closed door meetings ever. They get retirement based on their two years of service. That's it. Back to the private sector for them.
We'll pay for their travel, no first class, cover some food expenses and give them 400 bucks per month for housing for the privilege of serving.
Every six months investigate their finances.
Everything outside of national security issues should be recorded and available for public, even their phone calls, computer emails while conducting their duties. No perks, no bull sh*t travel, no big expenses, no bribes, no favors, zip.
This is just a start of what needs to happen to these people in D.C.
