HR departments are the enforcers of big brother. They are evil, useless, and someday they will be abolished for the waste of money that they are.
There was no need for an HR department in the 20’s or 30’s to ensure that GROWN MEN didn’t wear such clothing to WORK in an educated professional department.
I defy you to find any picture from NASA from before 1975 of any of the TRUE greats in the field of space discovery clothed in such a fashion. Much less when they KNEW they would have their picture taken.

While I agree that for the MOST part HR departments are the venue of much evil, the problem is that they became necessary over the past 80 or so years because people lost much of their sense of propriety and modesty. Among other things.
