Reverend Franklin Graham, son of world renowned evangelist Billy Graham, said the Muslim prayer service on Friday at the Washington National Cathedral, an Episcopal church established under a charter granted by Congress more than 100 years ago, is sad to see because the church should only open its door for worship of the One True God of the Bible.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, Nov. 13, Rev. Franklin Graham, who heads the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, said, Tomorrow, the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. -- one of the most prominent Episcopal churches in America -- will host a Muslim prayer service to Allah.
Its sad to see a church open its doors to the worship of anything other than the One True God of the Bible who sent His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to earth to save us from our sins, said Graham. Jesus was clear when He said, I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me (John 14:6).
Muslim prayer carpets will be laid out inside the cathedral facing east, towards Mecca, for the prayer service. They will also be to the side of the sanctuary, reported Voice of America, so that worshippers will not see the crosses or Christian icons, because Muslims are not supposed to pray in view of sacred symbols alien to their faith.
According to Pew Research, Muslims represent about 0.6% of the U.S. adult population.
It will be the Washington National Mosque before Obama leaves
There is no cogent reason not to allow them. We embraced secular humanism as our god. We are not a Christian nation. Deal with it.
I hate to say it, but you are correct. I would occasionally go to the National Cathedral to see its beautiful grounds, attend Friday evensong, or marvel at the peace and quiet of such a magnificent building on a spring day. What's happened there in the last 10+ years is disgusting.
What was sad is their turning from the Lord years ago. The rest was a forgone conclusion.
The Freedom FROM Religion foundation and all the other atheist groups are quite conspicuous by their absence. After all, they share a common hatred of all things Western and Judeo-Christian with the Muzzrats, so it seems they’re forming some unholy alliance of convenience with them. An alliance based on the faulty assumption that an enemy of my enemy is my friend. And we all know what happens when we ASS-U-ME.
I agree very much with Franklin Graham.
I have no idea why you want the Rev. Graham to preach in the street.
One of my best friends, works in his organization. The Rev. regularly is under threat from Muslims fanatics. He refuses to cow tow to them.
You might be surprised.
The Islamists expected at the cathedral include representatives from the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). In 2009, both groups were confirmed as co-conspirators in a conspiracy to deliver funds to the Gaza-based Hamas jihad group, which regularly launches attacks to kill Jews in Israel.
This year, Hamas launched more than 4,000 rockets at Jews in Israel, often from within civilian areas.
Hamas is an affiliate of the Egypt-based Islamist group the Muslim Brotherhood, which was ousted from power in Egypt by huge public protest in 2012. Both CAIR and ISNA have close ties to the brotherhood movement.
So, you tell me whether those are not good reasons enough...
GOD BLESS FRANKLIN GRAHAM.
He’s right.
Once they use a house of worship for prayers - no matter which religion claims it - that house of worship can now be claimed under Islamic law as a muslim mosque.
Are you a Christian?
I limited the scope the Muslims in general. But if you want to go down the CAIR route.....their associations have been known for years, predating the 2012 elections for sure.....and they are still here. They are still in business. The American electorate certainly doesn’t care. So give me another reason.
Can’t the Saudis buy their own mosque there like they do everywhere else?
islam is a satanic death cult.
“allah” = satan
Why do they need to pray at the cathedral? Washington has a major mosque; and doubtless many others.
Are they at the same time allowing a Christian service at the Washington mosque?
Is this a “switch of pulpits” for a day?
If not, why are they at the national cathedral?
