Except today’s coal-burning power plants in the USA aren’t the plants that spew a long list of pollutants—including oxides of sulfur—like it was as little as 40 years ago. Today’s coal-fired power plants emit very little emissions, thanks to strict emission control rules imposed between the 1970’s to 1990’s.

The reduction in emissions was thanks to an inventive spirit Americans possess.

Although the catalyst, Big Government is the bad guy in the story.
