OK, I was talking of a situation where Item X was $20 at WM or other box store and then you discover the same item at a competitor for $15. Why would I go back to WM, etc., show them their competitors lower price, and buy from them? Why not just buy the $15 item at the first store?
To me it is a meaningless phrase because of that part of human nature. Probably they are thinking of you seeing Item X advertised and you bring it to WM, etc. Again, unless you’re going to WM already, there’s no point in going out of your way when there is no price differential.
